Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Puerto Rico could be as easy as pie or it could go on forever. We've put together some useful travel tips that will help you start your next big adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, put in your passport, travel docs, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are some great options. If you hope to catch more than just forty winks, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you hop off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your top priority when deciding what to wear on your flight. Loose clothing is a wise option, as are roomy, closed-toe shoes.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To lower your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
