If you're not prepared, travelling can be tough. But there's no need to panic. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a stress-free start to your getaway in Puerto Rico. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good read. Next, find a spot in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The answer to a comfortable flight is as simple as your choice of clothes. Prepare for changes in temperature by bringing layers. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin gets too cold. Shoes like sandals and heels are best left for other occasions. Instead, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will appreciate it.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. There's plenty you can do to lessen your risk. Don a pair of compression tights or socks, drink plenty of water and keep your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or perform some simple exercises in your seat.
