Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of top travel tips that will help get your Quba escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you carry the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a pocket knife hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive products, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by dressing in layers, and pick slightly roomy, flat footwear like sneakers.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your legs and feet often.
