Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Ribeirao Preto could be a breeze or it could go on forever. We've pulled together some handy travel tips that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be easy if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good read. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and pick shoes that are flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
