Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Saga holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having an amazing travel experience is to pack in advance. So, let's start with the basics: passport, travel documents, credit cards and medications. Next, take on board items that'll help while away those hours, like some electronic devices or a juicy novel. It's also smart to pack your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Last but not least, be sure to pop in toiletry items like a toothbrush, deodorant and a fresh change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and pick shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
