Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well. We've put together a list of handy tips that will help get your San Luis de la Paz holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be easy if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh set of clothes and a good book. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any daily medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between airlines, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, pocket knives, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like baseball bats, and items that could harm other people, such as swords and guns, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your airplane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and pack a cardigan as the temperature can drop inside the cabin during longer flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are always a good choice too.
- A serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises while seated helps to prevent this from happening. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks or tights can also help.
