Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your Sandhamn holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a worry-free travel experience is to pack in advance. So, let's start with the essentials: passport, boarding pass, cash and daily medications. Next, bring items that'll help while away those hours, like some electronic gadgets or a thrilling novel. You'll also want to pack your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. Last but not least, be sure to pop in toiletry items like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a fresh change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an airplane are not the place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and don't forget to bring a sweater as it tends to get cool in the cabin. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are also a wise idea.
- A serious condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks is also a wise idea.
