We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a pleasant experience. Follow our top tips and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and enjoying Savo in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare pair of socks and a magazine or two. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort really should be your priority when deciding what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear carefully too, as swollen feet and ankles can be a side effect of flying. Shoes which are flat and slightly roomy are always a smart option.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To avoid this, make the most of every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help minimize this risk.
