Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of top travel tips that will get your Skala holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having an awesome flight experience is to be prepared. First up, the essentials: passport, official ID, credit cards and vital medications. Next, bring items that'll help keep you entertained, like your laptop or a few magazines. It's also smart to pack your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earphones. Finally, don't forget to chuck in toiletry items like a toothbrush, lip balm and a clean T-shirt.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) hiding in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Pick easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
