Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your St. George holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack in your passport, important documents, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a tablet filled with your favourite shows are always good options. If you intend to catch more than just forty winks, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in your hand luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable products, like aerosols and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and opt for shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to pull on and off.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your lower limbs often.
