Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will get your Surat Thani holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack your passport, travel docs, cash and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop crammed with your favourite shows are some great options. If you intend to take a quick nap, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you touchdown feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Pick slip-on footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a sweater in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
