If you're not prepared, travelling can be testing. But there's no need to worry. Follow these useful tips for a pleasant start to your time in Tbilisi. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a great experience if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and go for shoes that are flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
