We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and exploring Terracina in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you bring the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good novel. Next, find a spot in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your important medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Opt for slip-on footwear, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to take a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
