If you're poorly prepared, travelling can be overwhelming. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy tips for a hassle-free start to your time in That Phanom. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a pleasure if you take the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare change of clothes and a good book. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your highest priority when choosing what to wear on board. Loose clothing is a wise option, as are flat, enclosed shoes.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your legs and feet moving.
