We've pulled together all the info you need to make your journey an enjoyable experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and having a ball in The Settlement in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack in your passport, important documents, bank cards and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a laptop filled with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you hope to take a quick nap, a comfy neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll step off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Go for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to bring a jacket in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
