Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organised. Follow these essential travel tips that will get your Three Rivers escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack in your passport, travel docs, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop filled with your favourite movies are some fantastic options. If you hope to catch up on some sleep, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you arrive at your destination feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a pocket knife lurking in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive substances, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Opt for shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
