We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. Follow our top tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and having a ball in Tulum in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack your passport, travel documents, bank cards and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a laptop filled with your favourite movies are some fantastic options. If you plan to catch more than just forty winks, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a few toiletry items so you'll touchdown looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp or pointed objects hiding in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by donning layers, and wear flat, enclosed shoes like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
