If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be a real challenge. But there's no need to worry. Follow these useful tips for a trouble-free start to your holiday in Tybee Island. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you pack the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and pick shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To reduce your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and move your lower limbs often.
