Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Uyuni could be no sweat at all or it could drag on forever. We've rounded up some handy tips that will help you start your next big adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack your passport, travel docs, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a laptop crammed with your favourite movies are good options. If you intend to take a quick snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll arrive at your destination looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive substances, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort really should be your priority when selecting what to wear on board. Consider your footwear carefully too, as swollen ankles and feet are a common side effect of flying. Roomy, closed-toed shoes are always a good idea.
- Unfortunately, one risk of flying long-haul is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression tights and socks are another easy way to help reduce this risk.
