If you’re poorly prepared, air travel can be challenging. But don’t hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a worry-free start to your holiday in Vladivostok. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack in your passport, important documents, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you’ll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a phone filled with your favourite shows are always good options. If you intend to catch up on some sleep, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you’ll hop off the plane feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between airlines, the general rule to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, drills, aerosol cans and flares. Sports equipment like ski poles, and objects that could harm other people, such as swords and batons, can’t come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of an airplane are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and remember to bring a cardigan as the temperature can drop in the cabin. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are also a sensible choice.
- The serious condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity. Doing regular foot and leg exercises in your seat helps to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks can also help.
