We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as enjoyable as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and enjoying Westwind before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack your passport, important documents, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a tablet filled with your favourite movies are some fantastic options. If you hope to catch more than just forty winks, a quality neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main concern when choosing what to wear on board. Loose, breathable clothing is a smart option, as are roomy, closed-toe shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
