Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well organised. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Wilkes-Barre holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any vital medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable goods, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by layering up, and pick flat, slightly roomy shoes like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
