If you’re poorly prepared, travelling can be challenging. But don’t hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips for a stress-free start to your getaway in Windsor. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you’ve got all the right things. Firstly, you’ll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare pair of socks and something to read. Next, find a spot in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don’t have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable goods, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The key to a comfortable flight can be as simple as your choice of clothing. Prepare for temperature changes by bringing layers. That way you’ll stay nice and warm if the cabin begins to cool down. Shoes like flip flops and heels are best left in your checked suitcase. Even though they may be your favourites, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you for it.
- A serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this happening. Wearing a pair of compression socks can also help.
