We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be speeding through airport security and having a blast in Wukro before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you take the right gear. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare change of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) lurking in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable goods, such as bleach and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight can be as simple as your choice of clothes. Prepare for changes in temperature by bringing layers. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin begins to cool down. Shoes like flip flops and heels are best left in your suitcase. Even though they may be your favourites, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will thank you later.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance travel is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help minimize this risk.
