No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Xianyang escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare change of clothes and a good read. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and pick shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
