I no longer drive and this place is on a bus route of the best metro bus system in the world, bar none, with the stop to the CBD 10 steps from the lodge. (Sidebar: Christchurch's metro system is incredible, high frequency, inexpensive - $4 a day - and a tourist's dream, very tolerant of errors of navigation). The Executive Studio at the Lodge was spacious and well furnished, and above all quiet. The kitchenette was very useful, allowing for takeaways, and the bathroom was larger than my own back home. About all I can say is: I'll be back, and request the same room!
