"This is a gem -- famly run hotel (couple and their seven children!), in a historical hotel (100+ year old which was a restaurant and many other things over its history). Judy Garland used to stay there in the 1930s. Lots of history. But more importantly, it's relaxed and feels like you're staying in a family house with a family who stays out of your way unless you need help, in which case they are very helpful. I've seen comments about the bathroom situation. What I can say is I stayed there...

"We had the best time at Edelweiss Lodge and Spa! We went to Taos Ski Valley to hike to Wheeler Peak. Helen took care of us the entire time, checking on us on our hike and setting up massages while we were hiking down the mountain. The only negative was there was no air conditioning so it was a little warm in our room. Helen did come through though by getting us a fan. Overall, it was an amazing stay and I would highly recommend Edelweiss!"
