Beautiful lobby and bar area. It is an old hotel so rooms are small with small bathroom. Unfortunately, the bar was very busy and way understaffed. Computer systems were down so they had a slow time fulfilling orders and closing tabs. Saturdays night from 5:30pm to midnight they couldn’t charge tabs to the room so we had to pay with a card which was slow. Sunday morning we never could get on the elevator with so many people leaving. We finally had to take the stairs down from the 14th floor. Perhaps they should consider staggering checkout times for this reason. We checked out via the Hilton app but the elevator situation was ridiculous. They had 6 elevators but wait times on each floor were over 30 minutes going down. Stairs were the emergency exit, tight, hot and totally unconducive for elderly or someone with a disability. Otherwise, it was a beautiful hotel and a nice stay for a long weekend.

There was a small drop off spot with no open spots all weekend. The Lobby was nice and the front desk staff were nice too. It only seemed like 2 of the 6 elevators were actually in use. Once getting to the room, there were no trash bags in any of the trash cans and the carpet on the floor was either really old or really sticky, but if you walk in it barefoot and then walk into the bathroom, your feet would feel sticky. Bathtub facet was broken and would barely function. The shower gel was completely empty on arrival. There were multiple empty glasses in the hallways from drinks that were finished but would sit there for hours. The neighboring room ordered food sometime Friday evening. The tray was not collected until sometime after 2pm Saturday. It’s not a terrible hotel, but for the price we paid, I would expect a little better. I probably won’t come back to this hotel.

This hotel was a beautiful art deco masterpiece. It was great fun exploring the property and enjoying its design. The room was nice although the bathroom was a bit cramped and could use some renovations. The food at the 1931 restaraunt was great though very expensive. This property has a high rating but I was unimpressed overall. Pros: - Art Deco architecture is beautiful - Restaurant in particular is impressive with 3 story high ceiling - Breakfast (excluding buffet) and dinner is priced fairly Cons: - Room carpet was old and room had a musty smell - Paint was peeling off the wall in our room - Art Deco look continued in room including in bathroom, but because of design there was no room for toiletries or towels. If you love Art Deco art style you will probably love this hotel. Our room needed major updates including new carpet, paint, and some modern touches to complement the design.

The French Art Deco architecture and decoration are absolutely stunningly beautiful. All staff that we interacted with were helpful, friendly and professional.
