"We stayed there for Eight days. It was great experience with old world charm and modern amenities. Rooms were very clean; Staff was very friendly and polite. Specially the "Verandah" staff was very attentive, and Breakfast and dinner was great with ever changing menus. It is unfair to mention few names as a complement because it is injustice done for others who served us with great care and friendliness. As a whole our stay was memorable. We will definitely stay at Galle Face Hotel on our next visit to Sri Lanka."

"Honestly a very bad experience so much we left halfway through our reservation to request a refund. First of all hotel felt VERY dirty, beds were uncomfortable and staff were not helpful. We booked double beds, they gave us 1 bed and a roll away bed. We booked breakfast and already paid for it, the staff refused to give us breakfast and sent us away to speak to reception to sort it out. Dont recommend you stay here."

"The property looks lovely in reception. Staff were welcoming on arrival but not so during our stay. Our room was clean but needs maintenance. Toilet leaked water along bathroom floor and curtains not hooked up properly so were too difficult to close. There is a Do Not Disrurb switch in amongst the light switches, unmarked, and ours was accidentally turned on so our room was not cleaned. No compendium in the room so we were unaware of the switch. Housekeeping did come up at 8pm after I called reception and the young man was fabulously helpful and explained the switch to us. Coffee shop is only with alcohol. Bakery cashier was very grumpy and unhelpful. The hotel is in a great position in Colombo but is noisey at night. We didn’t use any restaurants in the hotel. Large shopping centre 10mins walk. "
