"We loved our stay here and have rarely stayed in a place that is.so entirely focused on the comfort of the guests. While you can certainly find less expensive places to stay in Papallacta, it's worth the extra cost to have such a high-end experience. From the moment you step onto the property, you are always a few steps from people who are willing to help in any way. The rooms were comfortable and there were hot pools open 24/7 to the guests literally outside the doors of the rooms. There were plenty of towels and bathrobes available and a lot of courtesy bottles of water in the room with some candy as well. The shower was large, which I really like. The breakfast spread (included with the reservation) was extremely diversified with so many choices, and all very tasty. We also used the spa for back and neck massages that were nice. There was a beautiful nature trail for walking. At one point my wife said that there didn't seem to be any reason to leave the grounds while staying for a couple of days because there were so many things to do, food choices, and beautiful surroundings. It was rather cold and rainy while we were there, and the elevation is high, so plan on having layers and a jacket if you plan on visiting Papallacta."

"Beautiful location in the Amazon! Grounds were beautiful, room was big, clean with a nice balcony and AC if needed, staff were very friendly, they were very accommodating with our needs, excursions were great! Would definitely recommend this lodge and would stay here again in the future! "

"Loved being in the Cotopaxi National Parque. This place is rustic,comfortable. We had a small wood stove in our room which was lit each night by staff. The dining area serves delicious food for great prices. We had filet mignon for 15$ each. Again, coffee is not great, but it does the job. We took a 2 hour guided horse ride with a local fellow, it was wonderful to go out and see nature. Views of Cotopaxi were spectacular, the weather was great. Staff speaks english well enough to understand each other. "

"This place is amazing. It is very family-friendly, with lots for kids to do and explore. We stayed in the family room, which was very spacious and comfortable for us. There are many activities available and all were fun. Some of the things we enjoyed were a difficult hike, a night walk, beer and chocolate tastings, wine and cheese tastings, and candle making. The food is fantastic. The fireplaces are lit in the evening and our family loved sitting in front of the fire. "

"The staff are incredibly rude here. We arrived and they said that we have booked a room with a shared bathroom (my booking made no mention of this) but she said they didn’t have any shared bathrooms left so she would put us in a private for one night and the next night we would need to swap. I made the booking months ago so it isn’t my fault they didn’t reserve the correct room for me so I refused to move for the inconvenience. Our Spanish limited and we were trying our best to communicate, also using Google translate where needed and the receptionist was smirking and laughing at us and very dismissive, asking another guest to translate instead. Overall, very rude! They charged an extra $5 per person for their tour to be in English. Breakfast is very basic and the terrace is run down and looks nothing like the photos. It’s far out of the centre (30 minute walk) and not safe to do without taxi. The WiFi is terrible. Take your money somewhere else. "
