"We didn't like the floorplan of the room. The vanity area outside of the toilet/shower room was too small and the vanity was too low. The door to the shower/toilet room opened inward so that it blocked the shower door. It was just all too small. The hallways outside the rooms were narrow and scratched up. The ceiling in the breakfast area needed repair, the paint was peeling off. The breakfast was marginal at best. The elevator was too small and hard to get a luggage cart in. We wouldn't...

"We liked the location of this facility, it was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Great parking and availability to Spearfish Canyon. They accommodated our top floor request and gave us an even better room than we initially booked. Great staff and they were very helpful with places to visit. Nice common area with coffee and breakfast. Will be staying here during our next trip for sure!"

"The hotel is great! Very clean, good breakfast, tons of parking. Our only concern was that you can't make a left out of their parking lot which is fairly inconvenient but nothing the hotel can do about it."

"In a word, EEWW! My room was old and dirty and had a smell to it. The bed and pillows were dated and the bed didn't have a mattress pad on it. The walls are thin and voices can be clearly heard thru them. The pool was closed permanently. The best thing about was the lower rate, but still too high for what they're offering."

"The lodge and all the workers were very respectful, helpful and attentive. They made our stay (7 nights) amazing. The Latchstring restaurant had wonderful and tasty food. We ate breakfast everyday and had several dinners and ate a variety of starters and entrees. All very delicious! There was a stream behind the lodge with lots of fish to either watch or catch and several cool trails with amazing sites. If visiting the Spearfish, Deadwood, etc area, then I highly recommend a stay."

"The house is very beautiful. The only improvement that needs to be made is that in our upstairs room, the air conditioner was so loud it was like white noise every time it turned on. That was disruptive. The breakfast frittata was not warm and hard to cut into with a butter knife. It would have been easier to have the juices out with the coffee for self serve. Overall, we enjoyed the conversation at breakfast with the other travelers and the kindness of the staff."

"On arrival parking was atrocious, directed to another lot, while it was hailing. Front desk clerk was not helpful at all, had a bit of an attitude and did not assist with assigning a proper room. The hotel appears newish. Half the rooms are on the busy highway, and windows do not block sound. My friend stayed in room on the old Main Street, and was woken by horses walking by at 530. In other words, do not expect a quiet room. The shower was lacking, it looked fancy but was not very good with...

"Stayed in Yurt, it was awesome. The only thing was shared bathroom was a little bit away, hard for women that have to use in night, woods close for men."

"This hotel is amazing. I love the old building mixed in with new amenities. You do have to park about 3 blocks away in a ramp, but, for the location it was worth it. Casino and Gift Shop located very close to the front desk. The one thing I wish was explained better was if the products in the fridges near the front desk were for guests to take....like coffees, waters, etc... being there isn't a breakfast/restaurant on property we thought maybe there were for the taking but weren't sure. ...

"It took a while for someone to come up to front desk to check-in and there was not a bell to ring. Also, it seemed most of the stairwells down went right into the casino which is not ideal with a child, so we had to walk back up and take elevator."
