"My husband and I & our 2 friends stayed at the Akita Castle Hotel in April 2025 as part of our 9 day trip to Japan. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Akita , across the street from the Akita Kubota Castle /Senshu Park. It is walkable to shops and restaurants and to the Castle. The restaurant on the top floor near the bar had fantastic food. The Tepanyaki hot pot dish was extraordinary. The restaurant has views of the castle and park. "Room was small but functional for one person and one can easily open a large suitcase on the floor which is not possible for most of the business hotels in Japan. Despite being on the first floor (floor 2) there was no sound from outside (a car park), no sound from any neighbours. The onsen was a major highlight open throughout afternoon, night and early morning so one can avoid the crowds. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Akita."
