"It's easy to stay at a generic box type hotel. The Strand has pedigree (See Raffles and E&O). It's a beautiful building with high ceilings. Beautifully decorated and clean. Very pleasant staff. First, the good: the entire staff was super friendly and accommodating, it was easy and reasonably priced to book a private taxi through the hotel for day trips, and the breakfast buffet was really good.
