"The surrounding area is beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rate included breakfast which was nice. However, this is an all-smoking room hotel - contrary to what it’s listed as. There was no noticeable odor in the room, but might not be the same for all. And they’re having trouble with the hot spring source so there’s no onsen water to the room balcony baths (my main reason for booking), and their regular hot spring will be sometimes closed. That was the most disappointing part. "

"I really don’t know how to review this. It was difficult to get to. The road was steep and dangerous. We were worried our car won’t make it. The hotel is at the top of the mountain. The onsen and the view were great. The food fantastic. Free drinks and cheap alcohol amazing. But... it was super old, dirty, dusty. Smelled really bad. Like an old bus. No WiFi and no air conditioner. Had to do with a little fan. So I’d say ok. Just ok overall. "
