"Remember that it's student accommodation. The rooms are a good size and well finished. There is a gym and a pool on the campus, but it is necessary to drive into town for restaurants. This place is perfect for a quick one-night stay."

"Beds were excellent, cottage was clean and well equiped. Arrive Friday 20th around 14:15 and was told check-in was not until 16:00, bit we could buy and extra hour for a fee. This seems rather a poor way to welcome guests who are spending Hundreds of pounds on accommodation. On later checking the "welcome letter" it actually quoted 15:00 check-in. It left a bad taste from this 1 reception person. Otherwise the stay was good."

"My first stay at Lynton House and an enjoyable one. It was a welcome change to find good old fashioned friendly personal service where you were shown to your room and told where everything was and how it worked such as the pressure shower. Breakfast was good and tasty and set you up for the day and the hotel's location on the seafront was a bonus. Free car parking is available overnight but there is a daytime charge. "The Amber House has a very friendly and homely feel to it, I found it a very enjoyable stay and as a solo traveller as my room was a good size and very comfortable.If the weather is nice they have a lovely garden to sit out in and also a ' honesty bar' which has a nice selection in it. I thoroughly recommend you stay here if you're ever in Paignton. "

"Lovely one night stay as part of a road trip down to Cornwall. The host was lovely and friendly and made us welcome. The room was comfortable and quiet and we slept well. Delicious cooked breakfast in the morning. Ideally I’d have liked a bigger bath sheet that could wrap round me after a shower but for a short stay it was perfectly fine. "
