ask yourself, why is it cheap?

the reviews sold me when deciding to stay here. I ignored the bad ones as they were 2 years old but they are still true I'm afraid. the shower in my room ran only very hot or boiling so when I reported this i was told to shower in a different room and return to mine! and then i was branded a babycham drinker as i cant shower in boiling water (yes this didn't go unnoticed) never happened to me in 20 years as a frequent business traveller. the navvies that stay here (as it is so cheap) leave like a heard of elephants very early and its difficult to get back to sleep on the cheapest mattress in the world. you could probably get some drugs from those smoking it by the back door though? brown towels and black bed linen also a bit of a concern, why would you do that? White goes with everything (before you say it) it was clean though.

Had a really enjoyable 3 day stay here whilst wait to move in to my new property, the staff were really helpful and it’s a really nice atmosphere in the down stair bar, the rooms are nice and spacious, it’s quite and I didn’t hear any noise at weekend from the bar downstairs.

Good value budget accomodation

Budget accommodation that is fine for short stays. More suited to couples or solo guests than families. Very convenient for the motorway network. My room was clean if a little tired. Generous tea and coffee tray. I could hear the live music into the evening but when you book a room over a pub at a weekend you have to expect noise and it didn't particularly disturb me. Staff were helpful and friendly and the pub itself was a happy place. For the cost of the room it represents good value.

On night when the outside temperature was below freezing the room we were initially offered was freezing cold and the heating didn’t work. It was also minute and the mattress was broken. The second room was cold but not freezing (although we still had to sleep in our clothes) and the bathroom radiator didn’t work at all. After this experience we didn’t dare risk the breakfast.

The Fair Green Hotel has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The service we received was excellent and we highly recommend the breakfast. It was lovely. We found the room clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Served its purpose

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, nice breakfast. Downsides that wifi didn't work in the rooms, and between 10 and 12 there was nowhere else to go in the hotel as downstairs was locked due to all the staff being upstairs doing the rooms.
