"I genuinely don't understand how this hotel has as many good reviews as it does. This hotel has a bed bug problem and you will be stuck between a rock and a hard place because you cannot get any kind of refund unless you leave the hotel, so for travelers who may not have much spare cash to get another space elsewhere will be forced to stay and probably infect the new room you change into with more bed bugs. While we may not have minded the homeless people and the incredibly loud surrounding area I know that's an issue for a lot of other travelers so take that into account. However, just don't stay here and risk a bed bug infection. Do not do it. "

"There was no front desk, we walked around their building in a bad area of Phoenix with our luggage before someone finally told us to go to the third floor to check in at their make shift front desk.. "

"Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel San Carlos. The room was a little small, particularly the bathroom, however. The hotel is in pretty good shape for its era but could definitely use some modern upgrades and conveniences. I was worried about the state of the air conditioning after reading some other reviews, but ours was adequate thank God. It could definitely of been stronger, but it was cool enough where I was able to sleep. The pool was out of commission due to renovations, apparently, so that was unfortunate because we didn't get to enjoy the heat during our stay. The room was clean so that's always a plus and house keeping was really nice as well as the staff. Overall, for the price and location, we would stay again. It's close to a lot of activities and restaurants! "

"This location is wildly different from the other Hilton Garden Inn's in the vicinity, albeit just as expensive. There were limited walkable locations to eat & there was a guest on my floor screaming bloody murder/slamming doors all evening. I was afraid to leave my room. Luckily I stayed at the Scottsdale location for the majority of my trip - I only "slept" one night here due to a flight cancellation. In future, I would head back to Scottsdale before setting foot into this location again. The staff at the hotel were perfectly friendly - this was hopefully a one-off experience. "
