4/10 Poor

"Nice staff but the hotel and rooms are very run down and in desperate need of refurbishment. Stains in carpet. No air con. Rooms extremely hot and stuffy. Lift was also broken during our stay so had to walk up 4 flights of stairs in a heatwave. Would avoid in future unfortunately."

"Our stay could not have been better. The Kentisbury Grange has beautiful setting the room was immaculate and had such lovely finishing touches from the towel to the decorative flower on the toilet roll. We only stayed for one night with breakfast included. The breakfast was delicious and service was great."

"Unfortunately our stay was marred by the fact that the bathroom bin had not been emptied and contained the previous residents used sanitary products!!! The shower took 25 minutes to drain and, whilst we understand the logistics of old manor houses, if the plumbing is not up to standard then this should be at least mentioned on booking. The bathroom windows were in desperate need of repair, and mould cleaner, which may be the reason why there were silverfish in the bathroom. The final straw for us was the view of all the bins from the bedroom window! I'm sure it's got more to offer but we won't be going back to find out. We did mention all of the above on checkout and she was going to send maintenance to have a look so hopefully the next guests don't have the same issues."

"These people are not interested in their guests and do not deserve anyone's custom. Apart from the barman, the owners completely ignored us on arrival while huddled around a table with their backs to us. We had travelled over 200 miles to get there, having booked many weeks ago and paid for They left us standing there for over 40 minutes with no explanation as to why we were still waiting for the key to our room. Eventually, someone who was almost impossible to understand came to us saying the booking agent was on the phone. Only then did the say they weren't pet friendly - we had booked this using the pet friendly filter on Expedia. They were totally disinterested in the fact that we had no where to stay, were tired and very hungry after a 6 hour journey. We ended up paying almost £90 for another room, no breakfast included, so then spent another £21 on that. They were happy to take my money for drinks while knowing they weren't going to honour the booking. I will be seeking a full refund plus the additional costs incurred. I will also be reporting them to Trading Standards and the Tourist agencies. "
