"St. Thomas Margaritaville – Honest Review
St. Thomas Margaritaville has a few strong points, but unfortunately the negatives overshadow what could be a great stay.
Pros:
• The resort itself is clean, well‑kept, and visually appealing.
• It’s excursion‑friendly, making it easy to get picked up for tours and activities.
• The bar and restaurant food is surprisingly good, with solid menu options when the service cooperates.
Cons:
• The staff is extremely rude, unhelpful, and disorganized across multiple departments. Basic requests feel like an inconvenience to them.
• There is no weekly room service, and even when you request it, it rarely happens.
• Fresh towels and bedding are not delivered in a timely manner, sometimes not at all unless you repeatedly follow up.
• Restaurant service is slow, inattentive, and often rude, which ruins the otherwise good food.
• The beachfront is dirty, poorly maintained, and essentially unusable, which is disappointing for a Caribbean resort.
• The resort adds unauthorized charges to your credit card, with no explanation. You have to constantly monitor your account and dispute charges, which is stressful and unacceptable."
"This is a great place to still while you vacation on St. Thomas. The room and bathroom was very clean. The beach, restaurant all with in walking distance. Great view from the balcony."
"Location was good. Close to lots of stuff and off main road. Room was clean lacked a few things we like but for the location and price no complaints.
Community was older but kept nice and was quiet. Resort was connected to another resort that had restaurants and bar.
Beach was good, looked out to St. Johnn. Property was next to ferries to St. John. Other excursion pickups were also nearby.
Had laundry, no stove but we survived. Was a decent stay."
"Room 159 was nice with new appliances great views of the marina and mountains. Convint parking and access to to pool. Really close to the restaurant. Nice stock of Beach and pool toys and chairs for guests to use."
"We had to walk up the hill with our luggage because the taxi driver would not go up it. We thought it would be a good location because it was close to the dock to go to St. John. It was just 6/10ths of a mile but the walk was horrible because most of the way there are no sidewalks. We bought food from Moe's for supper and a good BBQ place just down the hill. Moe's has a buffet by the pound. Breakfast was as advertised, but some reviews said it was excellent. I'd say it was average with fresh made scrambled eggs, a meat, canned juice, and coffee. No decaf coffee or tea. The room was clean. The bed was fine. Only A/C in the bedroom but you could open the door to the living room to cool it. We let it be hot in the bathroom. I'd say I made a mistake booking this place based on price, but also no amenities like a swimming pool or gym. It cost $339 a night. We stayed two nights. I should have stayed in the place we previously had and paid for two taxi rides to the dock to go to St. John. We would have saved $328 minus the cost of the taxi going round trip and two breakfast's at a restaurant. I don't eat breakfast, but my wife does. If you have a car, there is parking. I liked the bench outside of the room we had because of the view. No real view from anywhere you would sit inside our unit. Nice view for breakfast. So, my review is mostly about value and not anything bad about the place. I gave three stars. If the price was lower I would give four stars."
"Gorgeous views, great snorkeling, amazing staff! Between all that, the condo, food and local activities there is no way I'd stay anywhere else on the island!"
"The property is beautiful the staff was good. They don’t have everyday guest service: u have to call them if you need clean towels and toilet tissue or clean sheets. The service is not automatic like everywhere else that’s the only thing I didn’t like. Overall it is a very beautiful property "
