"When I travel, I specifically choose hotels with amenities that suit the needs of my trip. In this case, I chose the Best Western because it had a pool, waterslide, and hot tub. Since I was travelling with my children, it seemed like the perfect place to spend time together, enjoy the waterslide, and simply have a great time.
My check-in experience was great. The lady at the front desk on the Saturday evening I arrived was super accommodating, friendly, and welcoming. Please make sure to give her a pat on the back.
However, on Sunday, after arriving with my children at the pool area, we noticed yellow tape surrounding the pool. I asked the front desk agent if the pool was closed, and she responded that it was closed for maintenance. I then asked if it would be reopening later that day, to which she replied, “Maybe.”
Extremely disappointed, we went back to our room. A little later, I called the front desk and asked, “In your opinion, will the pool reopen today?” She responded, “No, it will not reopen today, but the hot tub is open.”
Later, we found a notice posted on the pool door stating that the pool would be closed until April 30 for maintenance. Well, it was May 18… and it still was not open.
This was extremely disappointing, especially considering that I specifically chose this hotel for the pool, waterslide, and hot tub amenities. At no point on the Expedia listing, nor when I called the hotel Saturday afternoon to confirm room availability, did anyone mention this."
