Excellent food options
A town with a long history of foreign trade - links to the Americas and later the sherry trade with the rest of the world. Some of grand homes of merchants but several have fallen into disrepair. Busy town with plenty of bar and restaurants.
Our hotel Puerto Bahia was outside of Puerto de Santa Maria on Valdegrana beach and this is a lovely area but Puerto de Santa Maria itself is a bit dirty and run down
Very spanish, very friendly, very nice to visit for a few days and also to do Jerez / Cadiz.
