"Hmm. This is a very good property and would be excellent anywhere else in the world but standards in Greece/Crete are very high. It's a little gloomier inside photos suggest with only limited natural light. There is construction work going on literally adjacent to the property currently so expect some noise and essentially the outdoor balcony space is off-limits during the daytime. "My partner and I stayed at this beautiful family-owned hotel. We were impressed by the beautiful views from the balcony of our apartment and by the hotel itself. The apartment consisted of a large bedroom, living room / kitchen and bathroom with a balcony overlooking an inlet of the sea. As a family-owned hotel, it was lovely to meet them all and to be treated with such welcoming kindness. "We had a wonderful stay at Maleme Mare, right from the friendly welcome. The staff were friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was clean and well maintained throughout, including the pool and gardens. No issue with sun-beds either, there are plenty to go round. The food was really great. Plenty of variety at every meal time. Overall we had a super relaxing week and felt we were being taken care of at all times. We will definitely be back"
