"I’ll explain a bit about the 1 star rating but first, the positives. The front desk (owners) were very pleasant and kind when we checked in and parking was easy and plentiful. After that, I should have left instead of paying $250+ for our night in that hotel. I am actually stunned that a hotel in a college town could get to that point. I almost forgot where we were. It’s very close to having a drug motel vibe. Cracked old vinyl chairs in lobby, water stains on tile ceilings down hallway, broken vending machine, urine smell-and that’s before we got to our room! Dark stains all over carpeting, worn down furniture, filthy chairs we could not even sit in. Stains on walls, lampshades and mattresses! Sheets and towels that were gray instead of white (supposed to be white!) breakfast was bleak-oatmeal served in an old home crockpot that looked to be 20 years old, splatters on cabinets, very few choices and everything was sticky and dirty. I typically don’t leave bad reviews but after sitting with it a while, I could not let it go. The State inspector should really be called on this one."
"Loved the breakfast spread available for free every morning. Very close to casino and restaurants. Reason for 4 stars is the bed was very hard, making it uncomfortable for both my hubby and I to sleep (he normally likes firm beds)"
"The room was dirty. You could tell someone was sitting on the bed with propped up pillows, trash can had a dirty pair of underwear in it and trash on the floor. We were then given a room with a single queen bed (we paid for a room with 2 single beds). It was a tiny nasty room with torn curtains. We were under time constraints or we would have waited in line for another room."
"Wonderful old house. Great antiques, Kelley is an excellent host, great story teller and very good chef. Excellent breakfasts, convenient location and integrated into community. They were hosting a wonderful craft market the first two days we were there featuring talented local artists. We will definitely stay again."
