"This is a well situated hotel which has been recently refurbished I believe however our visit was not great. On arrival we were just handed a key and told where to go. The room was okay but the bathroom was small and the shower not great for someone of any stature. The door on the shower was a noisy metal thing and Aircon was also loud.
The staff were not particularly friendly and definitely not helpful. We asked 3 different people about a late checkout and each one said it was someone else. We gave up in the end . On leaving we were just given our receipt and no remarks such as have you enjoyed your stay or safe trip home It was not one of our best hotel stays in heraklion."
"I loved the view I had. I was only there for 1 night and great location and breakfast and al carte menu very good. The bar and restaurant staff wonderful! I wish I had longer to enjoy the pools. I would definitely recommend."
Malena Hotel & Suites - Adults Only by Omilos Hotels
8/10 Good
"The rooms and resort itself were beautiful, however the immediate surrounding areas left a little to be desired, more specifically the beached within walking distance were dirty. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food (and drink) was AMAZING. We especially enjoyed meeting the chef who you could tell took great pride in his work. The pool and spa were relaxing. The area is definitely walkable to different restaurants and a grocery story, and a bus stop is across the street. Would definitely stay here again!"
"This is a bigger hotel that seems to cater to business travelers rather than offering a European hotel experience. Lots of little amenities. Very clean and nice. Dining at the hotel was expensive. We left before breakfast opened but they put together a box breakfast that was very nice to have for our travels. 15 minute walk to the port. The port here was not as charming as the one in Chania but if you are leaving by ferry, it seems this property is a quiet and comfortable option. You cannot walk to the ferry however with luggage."
"Convenient location to museum; walking distance to all; very helpful staff, easy parking, very modern "high tech" building and we needed guidance for operating AC among other things; so ask your questions. We had 2 sinks and showers( !) an additional perk; I would recommend screens for windows to be able to open them. gym was a nice addition."
"Staff provided excellent experience and were very helpful during our entire stay. Free onsite parking was actually in an adjacent parking lot that the hotel owns. I recommend going directly to the hotel check-in desk first. After check-in you can turn around at the end of their driveway to exit and move to designated spot next to hotel. Staff provided 5-star service."
"The room was very nice and clean, the staff were lovely (they even called the rental car company for me to sort out a misunderstanding) and we were very happy with the fitness room and the pool. Overall we would stay again!"
"Paralos Lifestyle Beach was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday. We booked a swim‑up suite and it exceeded every expectation — spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed. The terrace had sun in the morning and shade in the afternoon, which worked perfectly: lazy poolside mornings followed by afternoons on the gorgeous beach just steps away.
What truly made the stay unforgettable was the staff. Every interaction felt warm and genuine, and in the restaurant especially, they went above and beyond. It never felt forced — just sincere hospitality that elevated every moment.
The resort itself is small but wonderfully maintained, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. The adults‑only atmosphere was blissful and ideal for couples, friends, or even a mum‑and‑daughter escape. The location is great too, with several lovely lunch spots nearby.
We hired a car, and the hotel is only a short, easy drive from the airport. Roads were smooth, drivers were predictable, and exploring the island felt relaxed and enjoyable.
Overall, Paralos Lifestyle Beach delivered everything we hoped for: calm, comfort, great service, and a touch of luxury. A truly memorable stay."
