"Pictures are very deceptive. A lot of the rooms need updating as they do not feel modern at all! It looked outdated and unclean. The main bedroom didn’t even have proper lighting and we had to rely on the hallway light to see properly. Cleaning of the rooms before we got there was one of the worst I have ever come across. We had to do some cleaning ourselves especially as we had a young child running around. Which is unacceptable given the price to stay here. Often we would come back and wonder if rooms had been cleaned properly despite seeing cleaners. There were empty food bags that were left out as our bins were full and we would come back to still find them there. Overall I would say best thing about the place is the location. Literally close to a lot of restaurants and shops etc. "

"The hotel has potential but is not currently operating at it's full potential. The main attraction for this hotel is the rooms with the view of the Eiffel tower and other city sites. If you don't pay for one of those rooms, the hotel is not worth it. We stayed from Sunday to Wednesday, the roof top bar was closed from Sunday to Tuesday. When we tried to go up on Tuesday night we were told it was for private tables only/private event. So we didn't see it at all. If we wanted the view of the city, we'd have to go to the gym. The line at the Pleyel Restaurant in the main lobby was very long the night we wanted to eat there so we ate at one of the nearby restaurants. The Odiwara Asian fusion place around the corner was very good. the restaurant to the right of the hotel is just ok. There are lots of other food options and a small supermarket all within walking distance. The metro is very close and it takes about 35 mins to get to the Champs Elysee. It's on the direct metro line. to the Eiffel tower you can also go direct to les Invalides station and then walk or transfer trains. Also about 35 mins. We upgraded to the city view room and it made the stay worthwhile. I also noticed that the walls in the toilets could use a clean. We stayed in two different rooms and both had cleanliness issues with the walls. The staff at the front desk not great. When we moved rooms my husband forgot his pajama pants in the other room and when asked about it, they didn't find it."

"Great little motel-style hotel hidden between Gare de l'Est and Gare de Nord. Lovely lounge facilities with afternoon evening 'tea' type service and good breakfasts. Lovely engaging attentive staff. Small problem in room that was quickly sorted by staff. All the staff were lovely but especially Fhu Ha. Although the hotel sits between Gare de Nord and Gare de l'Est, making it convenient for Metro and high speed rail, it is highly secured so feels safe. I would definitely book for travelling again. "

"The Hoxton was the best stay we’ve had in Paris. The location had lots to do and felt safe at the same time. It is in a walking distance to the 1st arrondissement and many sights as well. Our room was well equipped and quiet, but we were able to step out into the lively courtyard for a coffee, food, or drink as we pleased! The staff were welcoming and accommodating to our needs from the moment we checked in. We will always stay at the Hoxton in Paris from now on"
