"Resort is undergoing a complete renovation to a high standard. As of mid December 2025, restaurant, bar and pool area are finished, along with a brand new gym. Work is ongoing to some beach bungalows and all the 2 storey blocks and tennis court. It has been rebranded Eri Maldives under new ownership I believe. The works are causing a little disruption but once finished I would give it 5 stars. Great staff, great food and a beautiful little island (10 minutes to walk all the way around) and a really good reef for snorkelling straight off the beach."
"WOW WOW WOW! PICKLEBALL IN PARADISE. We have just spent 10 days here and all I can say is its amazing. The island is beautiful the rooms are great, the food is excellent and the staff are brilliant. When travelling to the Maldives I choose the resort to stay in based on the reef and snorkelling but this one was different as my wife asked for Kagi Maldives due to it having a pickleball court. I read some reviews on the reef and decided to give it a go. I was blown away as its way better than I expected. The reef is vast and in good condition. The sea life was among the best we have had in the Maldives, this is our 7th resort and rate among it among the best so far. Previously we have visited Amari Havodda, Lily Beach, Amari Fushi, Dusit Thani, Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, Sun Siyam World. The thing that set this island apart is the staff they really bent over backwards to make our holiday amazing. They even spent hours every night playing with us on the pickleball court and they are very good so we had so much fun playing and laughing as the sun set over the court. This didn't stop play as the court is flood lit so we could carry on until the staff had to get back to work. Then we would head to the bar for a drink before a well earned dinner.
Big shout out to the Pickleball team made up of the General manager Areef, IT Manager Ahmed, Hotel services manger Nasheed the Hotel Doctor Hassan and Yoga teacher Aditi who all played with us and made our holiday spectacular"
"Property is beautiful and staff are great but they need to improve the quality of the restaurants. Other than the beach shack, the food was not worth the amounts paid and are very far from 5-star quality which it should be at the ritz!!"
"This was our second time staying at joy island and we will continue to come annually.
Staff and service is always extremely welcoming and helpful.
This time round the buggy service was a bit slow which was a little disappointing but it was quite busy.
Our server Alisha at palm beach was amazing.
