"We loved the Ecolodge de Simal. It's really off the beaten track (quite literally so), but once you get there, the location is wonderful: right on the water. We were there for three nights. The food was plentiful, fresh, and tasty; the free activities (like a excursion en pirogue) was wonderful; the pool is chlorinated and clean; the rooms are rustic with open air bathrooms and toilets, but comfortable; the housekeeping good; the bar/restaurant staff friendly. It's not a "luxury"...

Everything is well maintained, and the cooking is absolutely wonderful. If you can, definitely go full-board. The surrounding town and mangroves are beautiful, and all the lodge's activities are thoughtfully planned, authentic, and easy to coordinate. Am planning on returning as soon as possible. Thanks to everyone there (!)"
