"Had a short 1 night stay to celebrate my birthday and a mini-reunion with 2 friends who live overseas and we all happened to be in England at the same time. The bar tender was so lovely and gave us a cake to celebrate - it was absolutely delicious! "Overall we had a great time and for the price we paid I do feel it was great value for money. Pros: friendly staff, clean room, great food, great history of the building and the pool and steam room was amazing. Breakfast was superb! Cons: (but nothing bad that would stop me going again just slight tweaks I feel would help) grounds are amazing but need some attention, sauna was either not working properly or was simply running too low, food and staff in Huntleys restaurant were fab however the room the restaurant in is so nice little things like wires hanging down the wall and seats where the view was let it down, the space could be used a lot better. I feel it’s a solid high end 3 star hotel and misses the critical touches of a 4 star however I’ve given it a 4 purely down to the staff as they were so accommodating."

"The position of the hotel was really good, nice views and in an accessible location. Good transport links. Everyone at the hotel was helpful, kind and warm. Nothing was too much. The food was lovely and reasonable prices. I especially enjoyed the Salmon in white wine sauce and Prawns with seasonal veg, it was scrumptious. I would definitely stay here again."
