The historic property was beautifully restored and clearly very well cared for by innkeeper Veronica and her team. Veronica's gourmet breakfasts were a huge treat, different every morning, and served with attention to every detail in the elegant dining room. Veronica was happy to share suggestions on activities and restaurants in the area....

"This property was extremely underwhelming to say the least. Upon arrival I was given just my checking card and it had two different room numbers written on the card when I asked which one was to clarify the hotel manager looked at me not at his head and pointed a direction I said okay so is this number and he just nodded his head and pointed again. "The hotel was clean and centrally located for our vacation to Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island. Really, the only big complaint was breakfast was subpar. The only decent thing was making your own waffles. Bacon was paper-thin and greasy. Egg bites were less than flavorful. You get the idea. Some fresh pastries would have been nice.
