"The property wasn’t ready when we arrived for 3pm, eventually ready at 5pm. When we arrived the fridge was not turned on so we could not refrigerate anything for several hours, the doors were left closed so when opened the fridge smelled awful & very unhygienic. "It had been a while since we stayed here, check-in was quick, smooth, and the receptionist gave clear instruction and advised we'd get a bottle of wine as VIP, so we booked a table in their restaurant and said we'll have the wine with our meal. We went to our Tower suite, unpacked and went to relax a little on the sofa to find a few stains on the seat cushion, so didn't make use of the sofa. The bed area itself was pretty clean as was the bathroom, it was just like they'd forgot about the living area. Dirty wine glasses, clearly had remnants of red wine left in them with rings on the surface when picked up. Tea tray wasn't fully stocked, all of these little things were not like the usual high standards we'd come to expect. We mentioned this to the staff on the way to dinner and they couldn't have been more helpful, they cleaned the sofa and stocked the tea tray and left 2 clean wine glasses on the table (although the dirty ones were still in the cupboard). The lady was very apologetic and did get things sorted, thank you. Service at dinner was very slow but this was due to there being only 2 servers covering the restaurant and bar area, both of which were probably just a little too busy for them. That said they did a great job and worked their socks off to make sure everyone was happy. The lack of staff and cleanliness tainted what is ordinarily a fantastic stay at a great hotel. Such a shame."

"My fault entirely for not staying at a more airport based hotel We chose this hotel so we could do a bit of swimming before heading away for the weekend The pool is advertised at closing at 1030 but when we arrived the lady checking us in said last swim for children was 7 It’s not easily visable - the key information you are sent on the hotel says 1030 so my teenage son and I couldn’t swim The bathroom doors aren’t soft close they spring shut very loudly o sorted this by putting a towel inbetween the door sadly my neighbours didn’t do the same Talking of neighbours the walls are super thin and the people in the room next to us was having a party - lots of people lots of noise 2 noise complaints were raised but they still want on until 330am less then ideal when im up at 6am for a flight The lady on check out was nice and did apologise I just think for what I needed for the airport I should have just stuck with the premier inn by the terminal and not try and go “nice”!"

"The location is good and not too far from train stations and the central library and Piccadilly. You have to scan a QR code to check in which I never had to do elsewhere, this took people ages and there was big queue at check in due to taking everyone so long. It does not save anyone else time and all the check in staff were just waiting around ready for people to complete the check in process on their phones. The rooms are a good size and had 2 single type camp beds and a double bed, depends if someone would be ok on the camp beds for an extended period of time. No tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms which was a surprise, they said this was because they offer cheaper rates and that is why they do not have them. The rates here were no cheaper than other hotels in the area when I visited. The breakfast which is £12 was not good quality in my opinion, they had no fresh fruit such as melon other fruit you usually get elsewhere, and only boiled eggs no other eggs. So it was a little lacking and you also had to scan a QR code to enter the breakfast room which did not work. I think if the price is cheaper here compared to other hotels/hostels then it might be worth it, but overall was not as good as it could be."
